Encaustics Exploration Workshop

A fun, engaging introduction to encaustic art, open to all levels of artistic skill. Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, is a form of painting that involves a heated wax medium to which colored pigments have been added.

Encaustic is one of the world’s most ancient and permanent painting mediums that has been rediscovered by contemporary artists – it has great texture with a characteristic drurable, vibrant, and lustrous finish.

Participants will learn a variety of techniques using a hot iron and wax, and experiment with painting on multiple surfaces.

Projects: 5 small paintings created with a hot iron
Outcome: Hands-on exploration and a restorative creative experience
All materials wlll be provided!
