A Little Something White Bridal Couture
First and foremost, we hope this note finds you and your loved ones healthy. To our brides, even during the best of times, wedding planning can be challenging. We would imagine that right now, things have gotten even more complicated for you. To our high school graduates and parents, please know that we, too, are sad for all of the things your child is missing out on right now during this important phase of their life. All of us at A Little Something White are here to assist you in any way we can during this emotional time. As you would imagine, the health and safety of our staff and customers is critically important to us. With the recent spread of COVID-19, we wanted to let you know some of the steps we are taking to both protect the health of our staff and customers as well as keep the store open for appointments to limit the disruption to our brides and their wedding plans. Obviously we will continue to monitor things closely and acknowledge that this situation is very fluid. 1. We are reducing appointment volume and operating by appointment only in an effort to space out our appointments. We are taking this measure so that we can disinfect the fitting rooms in between appointments, lessen the number of people congregating in the front waiting area, and reduce the number of people present in the store altogether. 2. We are suspending appointment cancellation fees. If you or an essential member of your group is feeling under the weather or has been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, please either reschedule your appointment for a later date or ask the individual to stay home. Consequently, we have decided to suspend our appointment cancellation fees indefinitely, though we continue to ask you to give us as much notification as possible prior to cancelling. 3. We will be disinfecting the common areas of the store several times per day. We will continue to be vigilant about hand washing and ask that you do the same! 4. We request that you kindly bring no more than one guest with you to your appointment. Should you feel the need to bring more than this, please let us know and we will work with you to find a time for you to come that is less crowded with other groups. We will work with you!! We just want to make sure you and everyone else stay healthy. 5. It may not be fancy or environmentally friendly, but we are going to move to use disposable cups for the foreseeable future so that our team doesn’t have to clean away germs. 6. Starting today, anyone shopping with us for a special order item will have a set of measurements taken prior to leaving the store. These measurements will be uploaded into our database which can be accessed online. In the event that businesses need to close for a period of time but you need to order an item to get it in time for your event later this year or early next year, this will allow us to place your order virtually without you coming back to the store. 7. We will be giving fewer “congratulations, you found your gown!” hugs. Anyone who knows us knows that we are “huggers”…it’s part of the celebration! For the time being, we may give you a celebratory elbow bump instead of a hug or handshake, but know that it’s because we love you and want to keep you healthy! Our expectation is that at some point, businesses may have to close for a period of time, either because an employee contracts COVID-19 or due to government-imposed quarantines. Because of this uncertainty, if you have not yet purchased your bridal gown and your wedding is between now and February 2021, we strongly recommend purchasing your gown as soon as possible. Our expectation is that most businesses around the globe will have to either close for a period of time or see a reduction in staff due to necessary quarantines. From the store ordering your gown, to the designer making your gown, to the various companies supplying the fabric to make your gown, there are various stages of the process that could be impacted by this. We wouldn’t be surprised if production times got extended in the near future even though to date, none of our designers have done so. If you are not yet ready to make a gown decision, we understand and are respectful of that. One of the things we pride ourselves on at ALSW is not suggesting that a bride purchase before she is ready. However, we also want to make sure you end up with the gown of your dreams. And we want to make sure you know that given what is happening with the COVID-19 outbreak, waiting could have an impact on that. As it stands, there are some bridal boutiques (not us) that are no longer accepting special orders for 2020 brides. Wishing you and your families health and resilience during this challenging time.
